You made the ‘right decision’,” she said, using air quotes, “And now look at you. You’re miserable because of it. Congratulations,” she laughed. “Really, you deserve it though.”

“Well, yes I am miserable. But I think I’m a little less miserable than I would have been if his plans went through. Back when you were young and innocent I only had goals, and I wouldn’t let anything come between me and achieving those goals. Money and power were what I was after, but when I got them..” she paused. “It just didn’t seem like it was worth all the lives I destroyed and stole.”

“Your father put it all into perspective for me… That and my betrayal was somewhat of a vengeance on Buddy for almost killing me.” she added like it was nothing.

“I’ll learn to live with my misery. It gets easier everyday.”
